Heather grew up in a historic Dutch farmhouse in the Hudson Valley where the haunting beauty of upstate New York inspired much of her writing.
She graduated with her BA in English from Pace University in Sleepy Hollow. Her undergraduate prose fiction and literary criticism were published in university journals and received several awards.
While working in higher education, she has written two novels: The Ghost Matchmaker, a feminist pastiche of Victorian gothic melodrama and Lovesick, a speculative novel rooted in changeling folklore. Her current work-in-progress is a magical realism romance inspired by the ghost stories of Washington Irving.
After a decade of waiting for the Q train, she relocated from Brooklyn to Beacon, NY. When she’s not writing, you can find her watching baseball, doing yoga, or playing Dungeons & Dragons.
